Zero Covid did not work, anywhere it was tried. The Government was smart enough to realise it was a stupid idea then, but it’s dumb enough to appoint one of the chief proponents of the idea today.
Lockdown sceptics right again.
As NPHET advises that Ireland should drop masking rules, a fierce debate as broken out between Ireland’s favourite scientist and himself. Yesterday, in the wake of the new advice, ISAG’s Professor Luke O’Neill tweeted that “masks are still useful even if everyone isn’t wearing one.” Remember – masks are still useful even if everyone isn’t […]
For two years, in this country, we let ourselves be blinded to bullshit by people’s titles and qualifications.
Neuroscientist Professor Tomás Ryan of ISAG fame wrote an Irish Times article over the weekend urging a campaign with one simple goal: The total global “elimination” of Covid-19. In his own words, the article reads: “Looking to the long term, there seems to be only two endgames. Either we accept Covid as endemic, which could […]
Poor old ISAG. The Zero Covid campaign has somewhat stalled out. After 18 months of constantly getting on the airwaves to demand more lockdown, harder lockdown, and total lockdown, that campaign, and its credibility, has somewhat stalled out. Yes, Ireland still lags well behind the rest of the world in terms of opening up (see […]
Mandatory Hotel Quarantine was introduced in Ireland at the start of 2021 as part of a Government strategy to help get the country back to normal. Six months on, the policy has completely failed, because Ireland remains the most restricted country in Europe. The policy was introduced, let us not forget, on the basis of […]
Unbelievable. And yet, entirely in character: Soc Dems @RoisinShortall says she has “serious concerns” about Govt’s proposed extension of emergency Covid powers and says extension should only be six weeks. pic.twitter.com/jZzsbYepg5 — David Murphy (@davidmurphyRTE) May 25, 2021 As of today, the Social Democrats will vote against any extension of the lockdown powers. On one […]
Imagine, for one fleeting moment, that an eminent scientist who had regularly appeared in the media throughout the pandemic took to social media one day to declare that having considered the matter, he had developed suspicions – without any evidence, mind you – that the Covid vaccines might cause autism in children. Do we think […]
As a doctor, I am not usually moved to write articles, but an episode in the media this week has changed that. And my turn to penmanship has been inspired, solely, by RTÉ’s Claire Byrne, and an interview she conducted this week. She was interviewing Sam McConkey (again) who you know is an Infectious Disease […]
Professor Gerry Killeen will be familiar to readers of Gript, being, as he is, one of the leading lights in the Zero Covid campaign, and being the apparent owner of an access-all-areas pass for the RTÉ campus in Donnybrook, where he’s never off the air. Professor Killeen, like a lot of the Zero Covid types, […]
On Saturday last, Prof Gerry Kileen of the Zero Covid group was a guest on ‘Saturday with Katie Hannon’ on RTÉ where he claimed that 1 in 30 school children would be hospitalised with Covid. In conversation with the presenter, Kileen said he was concerned about the reopening of schools and disagreed with NPHET’s assertion […]
