David Cullinane defends Sinn Fein’s position on transgender issues, saying that he doesn’t believe there is any political appetite to get rid of the Gender Recognition Act, and that he believes the party’s stance is broadly in line with the public.
A now-deleted tweet by Sinn Féin health spokesman David Cullinane said that the definition of “woman” being rooted in biology was “common sense”. Labour Party TD Conor Sheehan says that this tweet was “ill-advised” and “glib”.
