Any time I write about teachers, and education, I find it obligatory to inform readers that I am married to one. Some people seem to think this influences my views on the matter at hand, and they may be right, so it’s important that you have that information and can account for any biases I may or may not have. In any case, this is a story that is important, and interesting, and on the face of it makes little sense:
