A violent transgender inmate who was being housed in the women’s section of Limerick prison has been moved to the male section of the prison according to journalist John Hand.
Reporting for the Irish Mirror, Hand said that Barbie Kardashian who is a male and was born Gabrielle Alejandro Gentile, was moved from the female wing of the prison due to safety concerns with a source saying the 21yr old is “an absolute nightmare to deal with”
The prison source went on to tell the Mirror that Kardashian is “extremely violent towards women and poses a huge threat to inmates and staff.”
The source said Kardashian is in the “men’s prison now which is a change-up but it’s only recently,” adding that while there “haven’t been any incidents of note yet” there are still “huge fears” around him.
Staff at the prison are said to be “taking no chances” with Kardashian being kept on a “restricted regime” meaning that he is only allowed to leave his cell while other inmates are locked in their own cells.
The source said these measures were put in place for the safety of staff and inmates alike saying that safety was a “priority” in this situation.
The report also states that Kardashian is the subject of an ongoing investigation after he allegedly threatened to rape female prison officers.

Kardashian is reportedly on a waiting list to be assessed for “appropriate medical treatment” regarding gender but to date it is understood that he has undergone ‘transition’ treatment.
Kardashian has 15 previous convictions, including for sexual assault, assault causing harm, assault, threats to kill, and causing criminal damage to property.
Following a four-day jury trial last May, he was found guilty of seven threats to torture, rape and kill his own mother.
At a meeting with a social care manager also attended by guardian ad litem, Kardashian previously said: “If I got into (my mother’s) house I would run towards her and put the knife into her body and into her genitalia; the thing is, I would want to prolong my mum’s suffering for as long as possible”.
“I would stab her, but not in her heart or neck, I’d want to put her through lots of torture, fear and humiliation,” Kardashian continued.
“I would bring a screwdriver to insert inside her genitalia because I am a woman and women rape using objects; it would definitely be a long protracted incident, I would want her to bleed out after death after a number of hours, by putting objects into her vagina, pouring boiling water into that area.”
Kardashian, who has been diagnosed with a narcissistic personality disorder, also said:
“I know that my mum is smaller than me, she is physically weak and she is frail, when I was living with her since I was nine or ten I was stronger than her then and I know she would be overpowered by me.”
“I would only walk away after she was dead. I would check her pulse to make sure she was dead, I wouldn’t want her to run out and shout ‘help’, ‘help’, ‘help’. I wouldn’t want to be caught by the Gardaí, I think I would be caught because I do not feel that I could outsmart them.”
Gardaí told the court that they still have “grave concerns” about Kardashian’s stated “motivation to carry out the threats.”
Detective Garda Niall Fitzgerald from Limerick gave evidence in court, stating that gardaí believe Kardashian still poses “a significant threat to those she has made threats towards, as well as to the wider public.”
According to Kardashian’s solicitor, the defendant was “very anxious she be detained in a prison facility for females, as she identifies as a female,”
Judge Tom O’Donnell at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court sentenced Kardashian to 5 and a half years in prison, with the final 12 months suspended. This was backdated to the date of the trial in May.
The judge also imposed a number of strict orders on Kardashian for two years after release, saying that if these instructions weren’t followed the suspended 12 months of the sentence may be activated.
Additionally, the accused was found not guilty of four additional charges of threatening to kill or cause serious harm to a member of staff at a residential care facility in Limerick.
