Three young people were taken to hospital after a car repeatedly drove at a group of teens in Skerries last night, after scenes of violence in the north Dublin town between what are believed to be rival gangs of young people.
The incident happened on Harbour Road, in the centre of the picturesque seaside town, in front of horrified bystanders at around 9.30pm, gardaí said.
Multiple videos posted online showed violent mass fights, and include footage where a car is repeatedly driven at young people. Gardaí are currently reviewing footage regarding the use of a vehicle used as a weapon.
Gardaí are also investigating whether the violent fights were pre-arranged between gangs of young people.

An Garda Síochana said members had responded to “reports of a public order incident” at Harbour Road in Skerries and that concerned members of the public had called 999.
“At approximately 9.30pm a large number of youths gathered and a fight broke out,” the Garda said. “During the course of the incident a car drove at a number of people.”
