The Irish Times Editorial Board has chosen to stand over this story. It should be abundantly clear from the footage released here that there are now genuine and obvious questions to be asked about the veracity of that story.

We often talk – or more accurately, hear talk – about the rise of “extremism” in Ireland. Objectively, the extremism is coming from our own Government.
Residents of an apartment complex in East Wall are demanding government action after a direct provision centre was set up “overnight” just meters from their homes.
And indeed, people who would turn their faces away aghast from such rhetoric, coming from an angry truck driver with a megaphone, will instead nod soberly when it comes from a genteel columnist

None of this is a matter of race. It is as insane to import thousands of dark-skinned young men to live in abandoned office blocks as it would be to import thousands of light skinned young men to live in abandoned office blocks
What’s interesting is that this week, I haven’t heard an answer to any of them. I’ve heard a lot of people being called racists, though.
