Eight weeks have passed since the election and a new government has not been formed, though Independent TD Michael Lowry has said that he anticipates that a new Coalition would emerge by January 22nd.
The prospect of Lowry’s inclusion in government has been the cause of some controversy, so much so that there appears to be more discussion around Lowry’s role than the issues under negotiation for the Programme for Government which will shape the direction of the country for the next five years.
