Italy: Man Beaten to Death in Broad Daylight as Onlookers Film Attack

Footage has emerged online of a vicious attack that took place in the Marche region of Italy last Friday.

The victim Alika Ogorchukwu (39), who reportedly had special needs, was a Nigerian national, and was reportedly attacked while he was selling items on the street.

The shocking footage shows a man on top of Ogorchukwu, who appears to be strangling and beating him, using the crutch Ogorchukwu used to help him walk.

Although the attack was captured on film by several onlookers, it appears nobody intervened to help the victim who is believed to have died at the scene.

The Guardian reported that Italian police have “arrested a man identified as Filippo Claudio Giuseppe Ferlazzo, based on the camera footage.”

It has been reported that the police have ruled out a racial motivation for the killing saying “There is certainly no racial element”.

Ogorchukwu is survived by his wife Charity Oriachi and eight year old son.

The BBC reported Oriachi as saying  “This is a form of wickedness I don’t know,”, as she called for justice for her late husband.
