“Wokeness basically wants to make comedy illegal,” Elon Musk said earlier this week.
Musk – a South African entrepreneur who is currently the world’s richest man – made the remarks during an interview with the conservative satirical news website, Babylon Bee, calling wokeness a kind of “mind virus” that is “destructive.”

“Generally, I think we should be aiming for a positive society, and it should be OK to be humorous,” he said.
“Wokeness basically wants to make comedy illegal. Which is not cool.”
“Wokeness” generally refers to a kind of hyper-Leftwing ideology, with an emphasis on radical racial ideas such as all white people being “privileged,” LGBTQI+ causes, and more.
Musk also referred to the furore surrounding comedian Dave Chapelle earlier this year, saying “I mean, Chapelle? What the f***? That’s crazy.”
Stand-up comedian Dave Chapelle was the subject of controversy earlier this year after his comedy special on Netflix featured jokes about transgender individuals. Chapelle said that “gender is a fact,” and that the LGBT community is “too sensitive.”

“Do we want a humorless society, that is simply rife with condemnation and hate?” asked Musk.
He added that there is no forgiveness in wokeness.
“At its heart, wokeness is divisive, exclusionary, and hateful. Basically, it gives mean people a shield to be mean and cruel, armored in false virtue.”
