A man has died after being struck by a car in Co. Mayo last night.
The incident occurred shortly before 11.00pm on the N60 at Carrowntober Oughter, Manulla, near Balla.
Emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road is currently closed, with local diversions in place. The scene is preserved for examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
Gardaà are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, especially road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time.
