Ciara Kelly & Shane Coleman are wrong about neutrality

This week, Newstalk Breakfast hosts Ciara Kelly and Shane Coleman explained why they think Ireland should scrap its historic policy of military neutrality. And while I’m not having a go at them (I do enjoy some of their commentary), they were totally wrong on this issue.

The discussion on neutrality started with Ciara Kelly saying that she believes Ireland has a “child-like” and “naïve” attitude towards defence, adding that Ireland’s neutrality just makes us a “soft-target”:
