Why are our workers being punished?” Carol Nolan TD for Offaly hits out at Government climate policy which she says is devastating jobs in the midlands region. She asks why rural workers and rural Ireland are being adversely affected by a government implementing populist policies.
Nolan says the announcemnet came as a huge shock to the community who were lulled into a false sense of security. She explains that communities in the midlands are still recovering from recession, with unemployment above the natural average and her own county enduring the second lowest disposable income level in the State.
