Ireland will not participate in voluntary measures to facilitate migration as part of an impending EU-India free trade agreement the Department of Justice confirmed to Gript as officials reiterated that the trade deal would not change domestic employment-permit policy.
Currently awaiting final political and legal signoff from member states and the European Parliament before implementation early 2027, negotiations for the India-EU free trade agreement concluded January 27th with immediate speculation that it would encourage migration from the Subcontinent.
