A High Court Justice has said that a former Kerry local election candidate should never have been committed to prison as she was “not guilty of contempt of court”.
Michelle Keane was jailed between the 10th and 13th of December 2024 after Judge O’Donoghue, sitting at Kerry Circuit Court, held her in contempt in relation to an interlocutory injunction preventing her making further comments about a Garda who had initiated defamation proceedings against her.
