CCTV has captured the shocking moment a woman fell into the path of an approaching bus in Dún Laoghaire during an alleged assault.
Footage of the incident, which took place last weekend, on the evening of Saturday 7th December, has been widely circulated online. The woman along with a man are involved in an altercation with another man wearing a black hat. The man in the black hat appears to be assaulting the couple with the woman attempting to intervene and drag him off the man she is with. But while trying to intervene, she is knocked onto the ground and into the way of an oncoming bus.
She falls into the road and collides with the side of the vehicle with the bus is only inches from driving over her head. The man also fell into the road but does not come into contact with the moving bus. Meanwhile, the man with the black hat can be seen ignoring the woman while he continues to wrestle the other man.
As the bus moves out of the frame of the video, the woman can be seen lying injured in the side of the road.
A bystander pins the man wearing a hat to the ground while the other man rushes to help the woman. The woman, aged in her 50s, was hospitalised after the alleged assault. She was brought to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
