Green Party leader Eamon Ryan says that it will be up to the courts to define what “durable relationships” mean with “flexibility for a legal judgment in individual cases”.
Pay very close attention to what is said here, and what is not said:
The Chief Justice separately offered two quotes that may be advantageous to one side or the other.
O’Gorman’s opinion as to what “represents as durable” is just that: His personal opinion.
It will, as progressives have done in almost every campaign over the last century, be an effort to guilt the public into voting against the alleged sins of their grandparents and great-grandparents.
These campaigns often come down to who you side with, more than what you side with.
But perhaps your correspondent is simply getting cynical in his advancing years. Time will tell.
