The Sunday Business Post has reported on X that President Connolly has called a Council of State meeting to examine whether the International Protection Bill, which passed all stages in the Oireachtas yesterday, is constitutional.
The meeting will take place on Monday and following that discussion the President might decide to refer the legislation to the Supreme Court before agreeing to sign it as required before it becomes law.
