It can hardly have come as a surprise to many people that the demand for tickets to Oasis concerts in Dublin next summer would end up exceeding the supply. Yet to read coverage of this story, one might think that this was the first time in history that such a situation had unfurled. RTE, in particular, was eager to convey the apparent astonishment of the Taoiseach:
Tickets were advertised as being priced from €86.50 (subject to service charge) and limited to four per transaction.
