The news that Kneecap member Liam O’Hanna is facing terrorism charges in London for displaying a Hezbollah flag at a London concert should be welcomed by anybody who cares about free speech. That might sound counter-intuitive, but hear me out.
Earlier this week I wrote about the case of Lucy Connolly, a 31 year old mother of two from Northampton in England who is in the middle of an over two year prison sentence for tweeting, in the aftermath of the Southport stabbings, that she didn’t especially care if hotels earmarked for migrants were burned down.
