Fine Gael has been in government, in some form or other, since 2011. It cannot be allowed to wipe its hands of any of the major problems Ireland is currently facing, which is precisely what Tánaiste Simon Harris tried to do with comments he made earlier this week about Ireland’s demographic disaster.
In an address to the Economic and Social Research Institute, titled ‘The Irish economy: opportunities and choices’, Harris devoted a few words to Ireland’s demographic outlook, which is bleak to say the least.
