The family of 36 year old Kirsty Ward have released a statement following the discovery of her body in Spain on Monday.
The Dublin woman was found dead in a hotel in Salou just days after landing in the country where it is believed she was on holiday.
The statement, which was delivered by a family spokesperson said, “The Department of Foreign Affairs are liaising with the family of mother of one Kirsty Ward from Dublin,”
“The family will not be making any further comment or statements and ask for privacy during this distressing time.” it said
An Irish man in his 30s, who reportedly has links to the Kinehan crime gang, was arrested in connection with her death on the 5th of July by Spanish police.
He has been remanded in custody while investigations continue.
