An bhfuil an Gaeilge fós beo? I begin this article with a question asking whether the Irish language is still alive. 

I’m not asking if there are still Irish speakers: I know that there are. Rather I’m asking whether or not the ancient native language of this country is alive as a part of the everyday lives of Irish people –  and if it means as much to us as I think it should.
