Last weekend’s poll by Ireland Thinks for the Sunday Independent had good news for Aontú and Independent Ireland, some interesting insights into current affairs, and – as ever – an indication as to how voters can hold seemingly contradictory view simultaneously.
Aontú were up one point to 8%, while Independent Ireland were steady on 7% – with both parties having doubled their support, in this poll at least, since the 2024 election. Combining like-minded Independents with both parties would likely put them ahead of Fianna Faíl at this point, and Fine Gael who are at 19%.
