Late last year, Dublin City Council bought the Avondale guest house at 40/41 Gardiner Street in the centre of Dublin for a reported €6 million. It had been placed on the market through Colliers in May 2025 with a guide price of €5.75 million.
The company they bought the building from is Brimwood, which is at the centre of the pretty vast McEnaney asylum and emergency accommodation network.
