Gardaí are appealing for witnesses tonight following a serious road traffic collision in Finglas on Sunday afternoon.
A girl, aged 14, who was injured in the crash, died in hospital tonight.
A male, aged in his late teens, has been arrested in relation to this incident and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin Region.
The teenage girl, a pedestrian, was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of injuries and passed away.
The collision involving a scrambler bike took place at 2:20 pm this afternoon.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have conducted an examination of the scene and the road has since reopened.
Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area between 2.10pm and 2.40pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
