Sometimes it occurs to me that we are blessed to live in a country where the chief topic of national discourse for the last few days has been a social media influencer deleting his accounts, and then restoring them again.
This is not to play down the significance of the Garron Noone row – simply to note that he is at the top of most newspaper’s most-read lists at the moment because there have been blessedly few massive car accidents, murders, or natural disasters. When you’re talking about somebody deleting their social media, things are mostly grand in the country.
