Russian has hit the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and other centres with sustained missile and rocket attacks, saying the strikes were in retaliation for Saturday’s attack on a key bridge link to Crimea.
Missiles also struck Lviv, in western Ukraine and other cities including Zaporizhzhia and Mykolayiv in the south, which are close to the frontline.

President Zelensky called for international condemnation of the Russian attack and vowed that the strikes would not stop a Ukrainian victory, even as missiles struck power facilities in Kyiv, Lviv, and up to 10 other cities, with implications for energy provision for millions of Ukrainians.
“There may be temporary power outages now, but there will never be interruptions in our confidence in (Ukraine’s) victory,” he said.
