A 31 year old Slovakian national has been charged with the murder of Ashling Murphy, the young Offaly teacher killed as she went for a run in near Tullamore at 4pm last Wednesday.
Jozef Puska, with an address at Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, near Tullamore, was charged this evening at a special sitting of Tullamore District Court where he was brought from the local garda station.
He was heckled as Gardai walked him to the courthouse door.

The murder of the popular and talented young teacher as she jogged along the canal in broad daylight, has been met with shock and horror in the town and beyond.
Ashling Murphy was 23 years old and a highly-regarded traditional musician from a musical family, having performed with Comhaltas and at the Tullamore Trad Fest.
Ms Murphy was teaching in primary school Scoil Naomh Colmcille before her murder.
The young teacher trained at Limerick’s Mary Immaculate College in August, 2017. A member of Ballyboy Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, the talented fiddle player also tutored students of traditional music.
