WATCH: Kildare schools form largest ever St. Brigid’s Cross

The staff and students of St. Brigid’s Primary School, Educate Together and Gaelscoil Mhic Aodha in Kildare have come together to create what they say is the largest St. Brigid’s Cross ever formed.

Some 1500 students took part in what the school said was “a wonderful occasion to honour St. Brigid on the 1st official bank holiday in her honour.”

The incredible video was met with praise from Twitter users, with the creative and impressive undertaking described as “fantastic” and “wonderful”.

“Ar fheabhas!” one user wrote, while another also congratulated staff and pupils, commenting: “Buladh bos athan duine!”

“Isn’t this absolutely wonderful? Well done to everyone from St. Brigid’s Primary School, Educate Together and Gaelscoil Mhic Aodha for taking part in creating St. Brigid’s Cross!” Into Kildare said, also wowed by the amazing display to honour one of Ireland’s three Patron Saints.

Parents and family members were among those to thank the school for the huge effort, adding that the kids had a great time making the huge St. Bridget’s Cross.
