The Government has announced that, at the start of 2027, it will begin a pilot programme called the Single Permit Procedure. The object of which is to “make it easier for eligible professionals to obtain permission to live and work in the country by reducing the number of separate administrative procedures they must complete.”
This is part of a range of measures that came out of the review of the work permits system and have made it easier to employ overseas workers in 32 different occupations ranging from ‘critical skills’ such as Agronomists and Intellectual Property Professionals; to Industrial Machine Knitters; and butchers.
