Yet another accommodation centre which has been housing Ukrainian Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection is in the process of moving them out to new locations. The current residents of the Cork Student Village close to University College Cork are to begin to move in the first week in March.
It is not yet clear whether the facility will then be used to house people seeking international protection and the Department appeared to be indicating that it might be returned to its previous use as student accommodation. That would certainly be welcomed but the pattern in other places where Ukrainians have been moved out is that they are being replaced by asylum applicants.
