A man is confirmed to have died after his car was stuck by a tree at Feddyglass in Donegal this morning.
At approximately 5.30am this morning 24th January, 2025 Gardaí were alerted to a serious road traffic incident at Feddyglass, Raphoe, Donegal.
Subsequently Gardaí and local Emergency Services have attended the scene where during Storm Éowyn, a tree fell on a car. A male, who was the driver of the vehicle, was fatally injured during the incident and died at the scene.
The N14 remained closed earlier with diversions in place.
The scene is being examined by divisional scenes of crime and forensic collision investigators.
Storm Éowyn continues to present risk, with some roads currently blocked with fallen trees.
While a status red warning will be moved to orange, Gardaí have asked that people stay indoors and only leave or take to the roads if completely necessary.

Met Éireann said today that winds associated with Storm Eowyn will continue to ease from the south this evening, although it will remain very windy in northern areas for a time. Scattered squally showers will continue this evening, turning wintry at times, especially in the northwest with hail and lightning possible.
Southwest to west winds will moderate tonight, and winds will decrease light southerly or variable with frost and icy patches setting in. Scattered showers will follow, especially across west and north areas, some of hail, sleet and snow, mainly confined to northwest areas later with long clear spells developing. Cold with lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees.
