As regular readers of Gript will know, our own government is actively working to keep you in the dark regarding the impact of migrant crime, refusing to release crime data aggregated by nationality or ethnicity. The response to those who claim that immigration is not a factor in crime, please just release the data. Because data, whatever the idiots might tell you, isn’t racist.
The British government also does not publish crime rates by immigration status – though this is set to change somewhat. But some data, mostly obtained through FOI from sources such as the Home Office, the Office for National Statistics and other sources have shown that foreign nationals – and especially specific migrant cohorts – can be disproportionately represented when it comes to certain violent and sexual crimes. A recent analysis by Sky News, for example, based on an assumption of a much higher Afghan population in the UK than nationality data from the ONS’s Annual Population Survey, still found a far higher rate of sexual assault amongst Afghan men, for example, than Britons.
