The Department of Education has more employees, and a bigger budget, than Tesco Ireland. Norma Foley is undoubtedly a decent woman with good intentions. But nobody would ever have hired her to run Tesco.
unusually, it is an example of a big Government spending programme which if enacted properly should have a net positive effect on the economics of the area in which it is being enacted.
A Government that has doubled health spending, and managed to make the system worse, should not be praised for announcing further budget increases.
