The EMA found 169 blood clots known as CVST in the brain and a further 53 splanchnic vein thrombosis clots following 34 million vaccine doses, giving a rate of 1 clot per 150,000 doses.
The data also makes clear that neither figure is higher than the clotting risk experienced in the overall population.
AstraZeneca claims there is “no evidence” that blood clotting is linked to their injection.
AstraZeneca could legally declare the pandemic over on 1 July, 2021.
