An application has been registered by a company called Raspberry Key to “Regularise the current use of the hotel for accommodation for persons seeking international protection under class 14(h) part 1 of schedule 2 of the planning & development regulations 2001 (as Amended).”
The premises in question is at 146 Parnell Street, and even though it has for a while been The Bunkhouse the photograph above shows that it still retains some of an older and grander façade. A bit like Dublin if you like: an architectural metaphor, perhaps, for a city that in its northern core is rotting away.
