I confess to having been somewhat depressed – or perhaps a better word is dis-spirited – this week over the result of the General Election.
Not because of the victory of the ruling coalition necessarily (indeed I was personally pleased to see my old college friend Shane Moynihan elected in Dublin Mid-West, he’ll be a great TD). But because of the inevitability of it all.
