It was reality TV at Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday in the House of Commons. Immigration, both legal and illegal, dominated the weekly debate between Labour Prime Minister Sir Keir Stamer and leader of His Majesty’s Opposition Kemi Badenoch, Conservative.
This exchange stands in stark contrast to Ireland’s Minister for Justice Helen McEntee going on TV to inform us all before the election that we, Ireland, cannot tell people who leave their homes not to come here. “You have millions of people on the move, you can’t tell them not to seek a better life.” Does this mean that we are taking anyone who wants to come? Is this the plan? If so it is going to get very cosy here on the island of Ireland.
