LMFM presenter Michael Reade has apologised to anti-lockdown activist Ben Gilroy for falsely alleging that he complained about Garda conduct at a protest which saw some violence occur.
Mr Reade incorrectly believed a recording of Mr Gilroy, taken from the internet, which was critical of the five kilometre Covid restriction on movement, to be a comment on the protest.

The veteran presenter also apologised for asking Sinn Féin TD, Ruairi Ó Murchú, and Socialist TD, Paul Murphy, to comment on the recording – and for wrongly claiming that Mr Gilroy was involved in organising the same protest.
