Labour: Masks “very detrimental” to kids – but don’t scrap them

Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, Labour’s Education spokesman, has admitted that masks are “very detrimental” to children – while advocating for their continued use.

We need a nationwide manhunt for “the plot,” which has quite evidently been lost.

The bizarre comments were made during a Prime Time segment on RTÉ One this week, with Ó Ríordáin urging NPHET not to suggest the lifting of masking in schools until more young children were vaccinated.

“The reality at primary level is that only 107,000 children between the ages of 5 and 11 are vaccinated…if we reduce restrictions in primary schools, it’s not being replaced with an energetic vaccination program,” he said.

Ó Ríordáin went on to say that every school in Ireland should be turned into a vaccination centre, adding that NPHET had to “make a balance between the social and emotional needs of children and the spread of the virus.”

“Where is the vaccination program between 5 and 11 year olds?” he said.

“…however, I do appreciate that having masks on children is a very detrimental thing.”

Now, what’s remarkable about this, first and foremost, is the fact that according to the CSO’s latest data, zero children in Ireland under the age of 12 have died of Covid-19. As in, none. Not a single one, anywhere, in any county.

So Labour’s advice is to implement a policy which they themselves say will be “very detrimental” to hundreds of thousands of children across Ireland, until they get vaccinated for a disease which so far has not killed anyone in their age group.

Even as Ireland appears to emerge from the Covid chapter of history, and even lockdown cheerleaders like NPHET begin to advise opening up, there are still factions like Labour who are so entrenched in their Covid mindset that they can’t help but try to keep the party going.

Many are apparently willing to even reject “the science” and the “experts” they spent the whole pandemic praising, in an effort to vaccinate everything that moves, whether or not Covid poses a substantial risk.

After every child is jabbed, what’s next? Family pets, house plants, and furniture? When that’s exhausted should we expect to see Labour launch its own space program to find alien life to innoculate, and then a portal to other dimensions across the multiverse?

I can just see it now: Aodhán cryogenically frozen in a metal pod and fired towards the Andromeda galaxy on his thousand year quest to vaccinate all of reality. Frankly, that day can’t come soon enough.
