There’s always a sense of anticipation around Christmas as people wait for the special story-telling adverts rolled out by huge brands like John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.
This year, however, the amazing JJ Hough’s singing pub in Banagher, Co Offaly has shown the competition how its done.
The hilarious take on rural versus city life, virtue-signalling, electric cars and the joys of communities and an old fashioned Christmas is spot on.
JJ Hough’s say: “Presenting the 4th annual JJ Hough’s Christmas ad entitled ‘Emission Impossible’ a story, not only about a Driving home for Christmas, but about two separate worlds and their complex relationship to the environment.”
“Thanks to Marie Keane for her rendition of the Dusty Springfield classic ‘Going Back’ and to Splendid Isolation for their traditional cover of the Chris Rea classic ‘Driving home for Christmas’. Thanks also to Ultan Conlon – musician for access to all his music (watch this space). Thanks to Harry Prendergast for the concept contibutions, and everyone else who helped me brainstorm.
