When photographer Sam Rowley first published his ‘Station Squabble’ photo, it was so good many people thought it had to be photo-shopped. But it was real, and has now won an award from the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
The perfectly-timed shot of two tiny mice seemingly caught in a life-or-death struggle for crumbs in the London Underground immediately went viral, so it might have been no surprise that it scooped this year’s LUMIX People’s Choice Award from he NHM this year.
Rowley, a wildlife filmmaker and photographer explained that he stalked subway platforms at night-time to get that perfect shot. It seems it was worth it.
