Charlie McConalogue tested positive for Covid-19 this morning after a recent trip to Brussels.

All cabinet ministers are in isolation after Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue tested positive for Covid-19.

The Donegal politician had returned from a European Commission meeting on fisheries in Brussels last Thursday, although the exact point of transmission to him remains unknown.

Having gathered in Dublin Castle yesterday for a two-hour meeting on the upcoming restrictions, McConalogue’s cabinet colleagues will now restrict their movements as they await the results of tests for Covid-19.

Minister Eamon Ryan, the leader of the Green Party, told reporters that McConalogue was wearing a mask at the meetings, wishing him “a safe and speedy recovery, and the same to all my colleagues.”

McConalogue is not thought to be experiencing any symptoms so far.
