Your correspondent gets accused – repeatedly and with some justification – by readers of being relentlessly and dogmatically opposed to the President of the United States and his agenda. I say “some” justification because part of it is just the nature of the job. When you write daily, as I do, there is always a certain pressure to look for the stories that nobody else is bringing to the attention of the audience, and to say the things that you probably aren’t reading on other broadly conservative websites.
And of course part of it is personal conviction and observation: Trade tariffs are a bad idea, for example, whether they are imposed by Donald Trump or Simon Harris, and lasting legislation should always be preferred to executive orders which can (and will) be undone by your successor. I also think far too many people get excited about the idea of Donald Trump, as opposed to the reality.
