This, I’m afraid, is what most organisations, and the country, would look like in a United Ireland. And yet for some reason, the most devoted nationalists are very upset by it.
The simple fact that such claims are being made – not by activists, but by a very senior doctor – should be one of the top political issues this week. Will it be? Not likely.
But hold it alongside European elections, and the vote might become an afterthought, sneaking through with a yes vote because of a lack of debate, rather than because of a thorough debate.
If this is the level of opposition that the Government, and its co-believers, face, then it is not opposition at all.

Yet for all the talk about the nature of animals in Ben’s piece, I think it’s worth spending a little time talking about the nature of humans.
“They are coming for Russell Brand because he speaks the truth” is the kind of cheap slogan that is designed, and intended, to stop you from actually thinking.
“It seems to me that the menu in HSE facilities is set to be much more about carbon emissions than it is to be about patient health, and surely this is deeply wrong?”
We’ll wear this one as a badge of honour. If you’re taking flak, you are, as they say, above the target.
