If you were watching Virgin Media’s Tonight Show last night which was covering the Belfast unrest in real time, and you hadn’t logged into social media all day, you’d have absolutely no idea what the furore was about save that there was some nasty video circulating online.
In the almost 25 minutes devoted to the developments up north, they managed not to mention the attempted beheading, the Sudanese man charged with the crime or the poor victim (save one brief contributor sending wishes to him and his family) even once.
