According to the latest IMF figure-crunching, Ireland will surpass Luxembourg as the richest nation in Europe by 2030. The IMF ranks nation wealth by comparing the gross domestic product (GDP) of each nation adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP). According to this metric, over the next four years, Ireland will coast past Luxembourg with citizens bathing in a GDP per capita PPP of €168,000 compared to Luxembourg’s €154,000. Lowly German (€79,000) and UK (€66,000) plebs will toil on with their paltry GDP per capita PPP averages.
