You may have read the case of Garda Seán Shields, who was brought before the criminal courts after a complaint was made about the nature of his driving as he chased two masked men on the now infamous “scrambler” motorbikes.
Shields, who has been a Garda for six years and has no previous convictions, chased the two hoodlums, who remain unidentified, into a cul-de-sac in the midst of which his vehicle mounted the curb and “nearly clipped” a “lad” on an electric bike, according to a witness.
