An application was registered with Dublin City Council on January 30 by a company called Starstone Property to request whether a premises “currently in use as social care accommodation under Class 14(f) at No. 30 Bow Lane West, Saint James, Dublin 8, currently providing accommodation to persons with intellectual or physical disability or mental illness, to provide accommodation for persons under age 18 and seeking international protection under Class 14(h), is or is not development and whether development constitutes exempted development or does not constitute exempted development?”
On January 12th, another application from Starstone was declared exempt under Class 14(f). That was for the care of minors with intellectual or physical disabilities but made no reference to their being persons seeking international protection. It is surely odd then that having had the original exemption approved that they almost immediately decide to seek one to accommodate persons with disabilities who have applied for International Protection.
