A man who died following a suspected stabbing in Tyrrelstown in west Dublin on Saturday has been named as Victor Mamaligia. He was 23 years old.
A male has been arrested by Gardaí in connection with the alleged incident.
The Irish Sun said that “one line of inquiry is that the man had been lured there by people known to him” and that “although it has not been established, a motive being investigated is a row over drugs between young men.”
Gardaí previously said say they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death after receiving reports of a disturbance involving a group of individuals at Curragh Hall Crescent, Tyrrelstown at approximately 10.30pm on Saturday, November 1.
Gardaí say that upon their arrival, those involved in the disturbance had dispersed and a male in his 20s arrived at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown a short time later with serious injuries. He was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Gardaí said that a Family Liaison Officer had been assigned to support the family of the deceased, and appealed for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station,” they said.
